Invisalign and F22ALIGNERS
There is a solution to having straighter teeth without having to wear traditional braces. Known sometimes as invisible orthodontics, which offers you the choice of wearing a clear removable ‘aligner’.
This is often a favourable option for adults who don’t feel comfortable wearing ‘train track’ braces. The technology behind invisible orthodontics is highly advanced and can be used for straightening front teeth only, upper or lower teeth only or full mouth treatment, depending on your wishes, needs and expectations.
Invisalign is the worlds largest and most successful dental company and provides the gold standard in this treatment concept. We are proud to be using their newest software with artificial intelligence that can demonstrate your potential results within minutes.
Often Invisalign, whitening treatments and cosmetic bonding are performed together to provide an excellent combination of cosmetic dentistry. This can all be planned with our DSD (digital smile design) approach.
F22ALIGNERS are provided by Sweden and Martina,
We are one of the first practice’s in the UK to offer this innovative and highly aesthetic aligner treatment. They offer a bespoke solution using a highly aesthetically invisible and high-performance aligner. This system goes above and beyond that provided by others and reaches enhanced levels of invisibility when worn, as would be expected by an Italian brand.
Offering reduced stain characteristic of the aligner and excellent performance with low, continuous forces, all attachments used with F22 are hidden at the back of the teeth, with no ‘lines’ visible on the aligners as can often be seen with other types of aligner.
Seeing is believing and please arrange to meet our treatment coordinator who can show you the compressions.
Can I Have My Teeth Straightened Without Braces?
You can straighten your teeth discreetly without braces using Invisalign aligners. These are made from a soft, flexible plastic that are custom made for each individual patient.
What Is An Aligner?
Invisalign aligners look very much like mouthguards worn by athletes in contact sports. They are made from clear, soft and flexible plastic. They are custom made for each individual and fit snugly so that they can gradually straighten teeth.
How Are Invisalign Fitted?
Your dentist will examine your teeth and scan them so that your custom aligners can be made. Depending on how much your teeth need to be straightened, you will need up to 20 different sets of aligners that will need to be replaced every 2 weeks. In some cases, the patient may need up to 50 or more different sets of Invisalign aligners. Each set will realign your teeth ever so slightly as long as you wear them for at least 20 hours each day.
What Are The Benefits?
There are a number of benefits to using Invisalign aligners to straighten your teeth. Firstly, they are clear so they will be less noticeable. They are also considerably more comfortable than traditional braces and they are easier to keep clean as you can take them off when you eat and when you brush your teeth. By being able to take them off you can also keep your aligners cleaner. You will also love the fact that there are no food restrictions with Invisalign aligners. Simply take them off at meal times, enjoy your food and put them on again. Of course, good dental hygiene is a must after each meal but other than that they make mealtimes easier and more comfortable.
How Long Will I Need Invisalign?
Most patients can achieve their desired result of beautifully straight teeth within 12 months using Invisalign. In some cases, you may need to continue wearing your aligners for and additional six months or so. You must wear them for at least 20 hours each day and you will need to see your dentist and get them replaced every two weeks. As long as you follow your dentist’s instructions, you will see a definite improvement in the straightness of your teeth.
What Happens When The Process Is Finished?
Invisalign aligners work by applying a gentle force on your teeth to move them gradually. Once you’ve gone through the process you will no longer be wearing your custom aligners and it is possible that your teeth will start moving back to their original position. For this reason, your dentist may recommend you be fitted with a dental retainer. The retainer will keep your teeth in place during the natural movement of your teeth, gums and jaw. At The Dentist, you will be advised on the amount of time and frequency you should be wearing your retainer.
The Dentist also offers F22 aligners – a cost-effective alternative to Invisalign which may be suitable for some patients.
